Lizzy came up with this activity on her own. She asked for red bath paint in the tub. When she was done painting it looked like a crime scene!

Painting Pumpkins
After we got home from Dewberry Farm Lizzy was determined to paint her pumpkin that night. Upon getting home she went to her room and started getting all her paints out. We had to let her paint her pumpkin or she would have been very upset. Lizzy painted her pumpkin then asked if we could carve the big pumpkin we got. Mike and I were exhausted and had to explain to her that we would carve it another day. It's amazing the amount of endless energy Lizzy has.

Halloween Hand Print Spider
Last year we made footprint ghosts for Halloween. This year Lizzy and I made Hand print Spiders. All you need is black paint, Halloween paper, glue, googly eyes or something for the eyes, and a chubby little hand. Lizzy made about 10 different hand print spiders! She was having so much fun she didn't want to stop.

It's a fun and easy keepscape/tradition/activity to do with your little ones each year.

Houston Dynamo Game
As a family we went to the Houston Dynamo game to see them play against Chicago Fire. This was Lizzy's 1st time at a soccer game. Lizzy has watched soccer games on TV at Tita's house where she and Tita would get every excited over the game.

Lizzy rode in a cycle rick shaw to the game. It looked like she was loving it. I was very nervous she would fall out.

Lizzy enjoying the game with Tito.

The game ended in a tie. Lizzy behaved really well considering it was hot outside and we sat through the whole game.

Pumpkin Pie Play Dough
Lizzy has been pumpkin crazy lately. A fun activity we did was make pumpkin pie play dough. I had forgotten how easy it is to make play dough.
1 cup flour
1 cup boiling water
Food coloring
Pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup salt
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon oil
Food coloring
Pumpkin pie spice
The play dough is scented like pumpkin pie. Lizzy made little round pumpkins and put a stem on each one. Later she made pumpkin pie. She put it in the pie pan, baked it in her play kitchen, then served everyone a piece. Lizzy did this several times and had lots of fun making pumpkin pie for everyone.

It's that time of the year again! Dewberry Farm!
Can you believe it's already the month of October??? Lizzy has been VERY excited about celebrating Halloween this year. She has been seeing all the Halloween goodies at the store for the past month and often asks to buy a pumpkin at the store. Well today we went to Dewberry Farm. We went last year to pick a pumpkin and have some fall fun. Like last year we took tons of pictures....

Dewberry Farm has a 4 acre corn maze, wagons rides to the pumpkin patch, petting zoos, Texas BBQ, and lots of other fun things for kids to enjoy themselves on. Lizzy had lots of fun this year!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Mike's birthday was a couple days ago. We tried to get Lizzy to sing happy birthday but she was more interested in eating the cake and ice cream.

Lizzy Singing
Lizzy singing the "itsy bitsy spider" and "twinkle twinkle little star". Lizzy sings all day, she knows every nursery rhyme, and has dances or movement to go along with almost every song she sings. Although she does this practically all day it's hard to actually catch her on camera because she gets distracted and wants to play with the camera. Here is a rare shot of her singing.

1st time on a Boat!
We took Lizzy on a dolphin watch tour in Galveston. This was Lizzy's 1st time on a boat. Mike and I had been on this tour before and it was fun seeing all the dolphins out in their natural habitat. Lizzy was excited to be on a boat and she liked spotting other boats in the water. About 20 min. into the tour she said she wanted to go home and didn't like the boat. I think she was starting to get restless or sea sick. Lizzy moved from the front of the boat to the middle of the boat and felt better. We spotted a few dolphins out in the sea. Overall, Lizzy had a good time.

Lizzy's 1st Haircut
Lizzy had her 1st haircut today! She really doesn't have much hair but the hair she had was all over the place and often got in her eyes. I attempted to cut her hair a couple weeks back but was too scared to really trim it and I had no idea what I was doing. I cut Lizzy's bangs a little bit and that was all.
Lizzy was happy to go get her haircut but when she heard someone else using the blow dryer she cried for just a minute. Lizzy got to sit in a little car and watch Yo Gabba Gabba with a lollypop in her mouth while she got her haircut! She loved it and sat still the whole time. She did great! The haircut was a simple trim and bangs so it didn't take long at all. Lizzy's 1st haircut was a success and she got a 1st haircut certificate with a lock of her hair with date, time, her age, and stylist all listed on there with a slot for her 1st haircut photo to be inserted.

We took Lizzy for ice cream afterwards and stopped at the park to let her wear off some energy.

Help with the Nature Table
This weekend while Mike was away Lizzy and I changed the nature table for the next season. Lizzy was really excited to do this and help. I think she thought we were decorating a Christmas tree because she said she wanted to put the "tree skirt" down, and put the stars on top...either way she had fun helping.

Back from San Diego
I'm back from my 5 day work trip to San Diego. I missed Lizzy but I knew she was doing fine at home. By the fifth day I was ready to be home and snuggle with my baby. Lizzy and I got to skype one night the other nights she was already asleep by the time I was done with work. I'm glad to be back but like ships passing in the night Mike leaves for an interview in Massachusetts early tomorrow morning. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that the interview go well. Enjoy the panda video from San Diego Zoo.

Doctor Lizzy
Lizzy has been pretending to be a doctor for a while now. Lizzy didn't have any doctor toys she one day just found a necklace, cookie cutter, tongs, and a nightlight to use as her medical instruments. Lizzy would pretend the necklace was a stethoscope, and use the other things to heal "hurts". I love to see her imagination blossoming. I thought she would enjoy this doctor coat and medical instruments and she did.
