Tracing

Lizzy used some of her old stacking toys to trace circles on her drawing paper. Lizzy also used her widgets to trace squares. This was a random activity but Lizzy really enjoyed tracing.

1st Mommy Daughter Pedicure

Anytime Lizzy sees me paint my nails she insists that I paint hers too. A couple times she had a temper tantrum about it but this past weekend I went ahead and painted her toe nails. Lizzy sat there patiently without moving and let them air dry. The next day grandma Tita removed the nail color but Lizzy seemed to be fine with that.

Going in the Potty!!!

We had started toilet learning when Lizzy was 18 months but around that time she also started Montessori school and shortly after I went from staying home with Lizzy to working full time so we put toileting on hold. This past month we got a letter from Lizzy's school letting us know they would be starting potty training with her so we resumed potty training with her at home and she has done great!!! I'm so proud of her. Lizzy uses the potty pretty consistently throughout the day. We are still working on number 2 but she did go "poo poo" for the first time in the toilet this weekend and was very proud of it! Wish us continued luck in toilet training.

We have several play silks and Lizzy mostly likes to play peek a boo with them or put them on Bella. Here she is playing peek a boo.

First time at the Circus!

Lizzy went to the circus for the first time today! Lizzy had a great time. She sat through the whole show with lots of "wows" and singing and dancing along.

Scooping and Pouring

Scooping and pouring beans was a success! Lizzy did great, her coordination is so much better than it was just a month ago. Such a simple activity was such an engaging one for Lizzy she spent quite a while pouring the beans back and forth and seemed to truly enjoy it.

Baking Sunday

As part of our rhythm on Sundays we bake. This past Sunday we made bubble bread together. I anticipated a large mess so instead of making the bread from scratch we used Pillsbury biscuits and rolled them into balls, then Lizzy dipped them in butter, then sugar and cinnamon. We baked the bubble bread and ate it after dinner and for breakfast the next morning. Lizzy did a great job and hardly made any mess.

Swimming

Lizzy has been wearing a swim school float swimsuit when we go swimming in the pool. The new swimsuit is great because it allows Lizzy to swim all around the pool, and even jump in by herself! Of course we are right there supervising her but the suit gives her confidence to swim around without us holding her. Lizzy now uses her legs and arms to navigate her swimming around the pool.

Rainforest Day

We had a rainforest themed day and took Lizzy to the new rainforest pyramid at moody garden then we had lunch at the rainforest cafe afterwards. Lizzy seemed to have fun with everything we did but said she was "scared of rainforest". We saw monkeys, lizards, frogs, birds, and alligators roaming around the rainforest pyramid. Lizzy was tired out on the car ride home.

Towel Head Wrap

Lizzy wanted to wear a towel head wrap just like mommy. After her bath she insisted I put a towel wrap on her head. Lizzy called it a "silly hat".
