Blue Light Special
We thought we'd be bringing our sweetie home on Wednesday, but the OB wanted Nydia to stay a while longer because of some high blood pressure readings. So another night was spent in the hospital, of course, there was no sleeping involved. Lizzy stayed in the room with us all night. Today we had hopes of bringing her home again, but the jaundice came back. Our little girl is under the lights again. Nydia has been discharged and is staying in the room with Lizzy so she can be breastfed. It looks like it may be a few more days before Lizzy can move in to her new home.

Lizzy Walworth
A Brand New Member to the Walworth Family
She's here! Our beautiful new baby girl! Elizabeth Sophia Walworth was born at 9:23pm Monday night (5/25). She weighed 4lbs 11.9oz and was 17 inches long. We're still in the hospital right now, but we'll be going home sometime tomorrow. Here are a couple of pictures that I have available right now. More to come!

Almost!
We had a false alarm this morning. Nydia's contractions were four minutes apart for a few hours so we went to the hospital. Sure enough, as soon as we get there, they stop. So we spent a few hours in the hospital. She's now 2cm dilated and having stronger, more painful contractions. It may only be a few more days until we get to meet our new daughter!!

Nydia saw the doctor today and all is well. She's 1cm dilated (same as last week). We'll be seeing the doctor every week now until the big event!

Me @ Work!!
For those of you who missed seeing me on NASA TV sitting at the PDRS console, here is a picture of it:
I'm wearing green for St. Patrick's day. Of course, the NASA TV view shows me from the opposite side.

STS-119 Launches!!
119 has launched safely! For those of you wondering, I'm working the Orbit 2 shift, just training, but I'll be at the MCC console. Tomorrow, from around 5:30pm central to almost midnight, you can catch a glimpse of me at work!! Just watch NASA TV at the following link or the cable channel if you have it:
I'll be the one sitting in the lower right of your screen when they show the MCC view with the three large front screens (it's their most common view). I'll try to pick my nose as much as I can in an attempt to embarrass the Walworth name.
Also, Mom and Baby are doing great. We can't wait to meet her!!

Wal-mart Fail!
So we were looking for a new coffee maker and came accross this one. Trouble is, we don't know where to get it. I thought it was funny, so I sent it to failblog.org.

Great video from ISS!
Have you ever wondered what it was like on the International Space Station? Expedition 18 Commander Mike Fincke recorded this 35 minute (in 4 parts) video tour that's been posted on Youtube. Take a look and think about how cool this would be on the moon or Mars.

I actually DO work!
Well, the last shuttle mission happened over Thanksgiving, but I don't think I shared any pics. Here are a couple of me at work during the STS-126 mission:

Yes, I'm trying to look busy for the camera. The guy sitting on the far right of the second photo is at the RMS Support console position. This is the position I've been training for for over a year! Fear not, though, I start working sims in February and am scheduled to work the STS-127/2JA shuttle flight currently launching in May. That will be a very busy mission delivering parts for the Japanese Experiment Module to the ISS.
The next shuttle mission to fly will be STS-119/15A next month. I helped design portions of this mission and also helped prepare the crew. Here's a pic of them:
That's it for now. If you have a question, post a comment!

Welcome!
Welcome to our blog! We decided to start this blog so that family and friends around the country can find out what's going on with us and, of course, the BABY!! No, I don't mean the dog. I mean an actual human, we hope, baby. Here's the most recent pic:

This was taken at 12 weeks. We'll be going to the doctor on the 21st when we'll find out if it's a boy or girl!! We can't wait!!
Well, that's it for now. Check back soon for more updates on this growing Walworth family!
