Pumpkin Carving 2012
Today was a long eventful day. We went to the store to pick out pumpkins to carve, played with "eyeballs", made apple cider, then finally carved three pumpkins and watched them glow in the night.

Spooky Food
Some more Halloween themed foods we've had so far. Fingers made from rolled ham, almonds, and filled with cream cheese which Lizzy loved. Then, mummy hot dogs. Turkey dogs rolled in crescent biscuit rolls. Halloween trail mix and Boo Spaghetti.

Bella Montessori Fall Festival
We went to a Fall Festival at the Islands in Gilbert. Lizzy's school had a booth there so we went to say hi and support them. Lizzy's school is a new school that started over the summer when Lizzy started. Lizzy has done well there. Our parent teacher conference was very positive and Lizzy is doing great. Lizzy now knows the sounds to each letter and is beginning to sound words out and spell them. So amazing! All this learning is child led learning! Lizzy played on the playground for quite a while and saw and played with some of her classmates. The following day we had another fall festival so we went home to rest up.

Pumpkin and Chili Party at Schnepf Farms
We are lucky to live by many different fall festivals to chose from. In Houston there were a few pumpkin patches in our area but the fall festival we enjoyed was over an hour away. Here it's just a short drive to Schnepf farms where they have the Pumpkin and Chili Party. Recommended by my cousin Sarah we all went together and had lots of fun. Here are some pictures from that very fun day...

Flower Girl
Lizzy has been asked to be the flower girl at her Tio Christian's wedding this coming April. It just happened that Lizzy had checked out a book about a flower girl. Lizzy is very excited. She has already set up a "wedding" in our living room and the other day I found her practicing outside. Every morning Lizzy goes outside to let Bella out. The weather has been so nice in the morning so I often leave the door open. Lizzy is in and out. When I came back to check on her she had a basket full of flowers and she was practicing throwing them down the "aisle". Lizzy will be a great flower girl!

Pumpkin Face Pizza
I love Holidays. I enjoy doing special activities, making traditions, and making food for these Holidays. For Halloween I make some different things in the years past I knew I would continue making the following year. Some I have planned to make again this year are boo spaghetti, mummy hotdogs, ghost mashed potatoes, and pumpkin face pot pies. Some new Halloween ideas I will try this year are ghost pancakes, Pumpkin face Pepperoni Pizza, Lady fingers, and Tentacle creatures. Here is the Pumpkin Face Pizza we made today. We love making homemade pizza!
