Lizzy Photos
Here are a few pictures that Lizzy took with our camera. I think she did pretty well. She loves taking pictures and it's interesting to see some of the things she takes pictures of.

Splish Spash
We had a great time at the water park with family over the weekend. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Brian, and Aunt Nikki, all came to visit us in Phoenix. They stayed in a hotel that had a water park so we joined them there to enjoy the water. Lizzy had lots of fun in the water with family.

Peach Picking at Schneph Farms
I had been wanting to take Lizzy to Schneph farms but the past couple weekends were much too hot for us to want to go. Today the weather was perfect thanks to a cold front that blew through so we decided to go. Lizzy enjoyed picking peaches off the trees and eating peach candy on the way home. I plan to make a peach pie or cobbler soon. We will definitely be back to pick some more.

Edamame
Every year for Lizzy's birthday I write her a letter about what she did that year, what her favorite things were to do, what her favorite food were that year, and what she was like that year. Lizzy eats lots of foods and one of her favorite foods is edamame (soybeans in shells). It's a real treat for Lizzy each time we've had them and each time she has eaten a whole bowl by herself! I think she enjoys the work of getting the beans into her mouth.

Birthday Banana
Since this is the week of Lizzy's 3rd birthday I have been thinking of little things to do for Lizzy throughout the week leading up to her birthday. Today I made her a birthday banana with her lunch. Banana, peanut butter, and sprinkles! Lizzy loved it!

Haircut
Lizzy had another haircut this weekend. Lizzy's hair is very fine and there's not a whole lot of it but it still manages to get in her eyes pretty regularly because she does not like to wear clips or hair ties or even bows. Her last haircut she had a trim and angle bangs which I thought would be easier to manage but they kept getting in her eyes. This time we went with normal bangs in hopes the hair will stay out of her eyes. We'll see if this is any better. I wish she would let me put something in her hair!

Birthday Table
Lizzy helped set up her birthday table today. We are starting to prepare for Lizzy's birthday. She has been part of a lot of celebration lately with my birthday, and mother's day. She's asks if it is her birthday and she knows her birthday is next now. Lizzy has been very involved in her birthday planning this year. She picked out her birthday dress (a 4th of July dress), her birthday cake (funfetti), her birthday candles (princess wands), and lots of princess party stuff. Lizzy had lots of fun picking out her birthday supplies. Now I am hiding everything to surprise her with it all on her birthday.

Pool Day
I moved Lizzy's pool to be in the direct sunlight because the water didn't seem to be warming up under the shade. Well today it was 106 outside! The pool water was nice and warm but not too hot. Lizzy enjoyed herself most of the afternoon before daddy got home playing in the pool.

Desert Botanical Garden
Lizzy and I visited the Desert Botanical Garden here in Phoenix. We went early in the morning when it was still fairly nice outside to see the garden and their butterfly exhibit. I was quite impressed by all the different kinds of cactus and dessert plants. I was also a little nervous because Lizzy kept getting too close to many of these prickly plants. Thankfully she didn't fall into any cactus. The butterfly exhibit was fun for Lizzy...she enjoyed seeing all the different butterflies fluttering around her. This garden gave me a better appreciation of the desert. Desert plants are quite interesting and beautiful.
