Lizzy Singing

Lizzy singing the "itsy bitsy spider" and "twinkle twinkle little star". Lizzy sings all day, she knows every nursery rhyme, and has dances or movement to go along with almost every song she sings. Although she does this practically all day it's hard to actually catch her on camera because she gets distracted and wants to play with the camera. Here is a rare shot of her singing.

New Bedtime Routine

The past couple weeks Lizzy has been staying up later and not wanting to go to bed at night. One way we have encouraged her to start the bedtime routine is by having her do a sticker activity. Lizzy really enjoys dressing the sticker dolls before bed.

1st time on a Boat!

We took Lizzy on a dolphin watch tour in Galveston. This was Lizzy's 1st time on a boat. Mike and I had been on this tour before and it was fun seeing all the dolphins out in their natural habitat. Lizzy was excited to be on a boat and she liked spotting other boats in the water. About 20 min. into the tour she said she wanted to go home and didn't like the boat. I think she was starting to get restless or sea sick. Lizzy moved from the front of the boat to the middle of the boat and felt better. We spotted a few dolphins out in the sea. Overall, Lizzy had a good time.

Lizzy's 1st Haircut

Lizzy had her 1st haircut today! She really doesn't have much hair but the hair she had was all over the place and often got in her eyes. I attempted to cut her hair a couple weeks back but was too scared to really trim it and I had no idea what I was doing. I cut Lizzy's bangs a little bit and that was all.

Lizzy was happy to go get her haircut but when she heard someone else using the blow dryer she cried for just a minute. Lizzy got to sit in a little car and watch Yo Gabba Gabba with a lollypop in her mouth while she got her haircut! She loved it and sat still the whole time. She did great! The haircut was a simple trim and bangs so it didn't take long at all. Lizzy's 1st haircut was a success and she got a 1st haircut certificate with a lock of her hair with date, time, her age, and stylist all listed on there with a slot for her 1st haircut photo to be inserted.

We took Lizzy for ice cream afterwards and stopped at the park to let her wear off some energy.

Help with the Nature Table

This weekend while Mike was away Lizzy and I changed the nature table for the next season. Lizzy was really excited to do this and help. I think she thought we were decorating a Christmas tree because she said she wanted to put the "tree skirt" down, and put the stars on top...either way she had fun helping.

Back from San Diego

I'm back from my 5 day work trip to San Diego. I missed Lizzy but I knew she was doing fine at home. By the fifth day I was ready to be home and snuggle with my baby. Lizzy and I got to skype one night the other nights she was already asleep by the time I was done with work. I'm glad to be back but like ships passing in the night Mike leaves for an interview in Massachusetts early tomorrow morning. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that the interview go well. Enjoy the panda video from San Diego Zoo.

Doctor Lizzy

Lizzy has been pretending to be a doctor for a while now. Lizzy didn't have any doctor toys she one day just found a necklace, cookie cutter, tongs, and a nightlight to use as her medical instruments. Lizzy would pretend the necklace was a stethoscope, and use the other things to heal "hurts". I love to see her imagination blossoming. I thought she would enjoy this doctor coat and medical instruments and she did.

Dance Week 2

Lizzy loves going to her dance class. This time the teacher taught more dance terms and techniques. The teacher keeps the class almost the same each time because with little ones they get upset if you change the class rhythm too much. I can already see that Lizzy knows what should come next in the class. First they start off with dancing on the floor, then rhythm sticks, shakers, tumbling and balancing, hula hoops, bubbles, then parachute. The class ends with everyone getting a stamp or sticker. The dance teacher teaches dance terms and move throughout the different activities. The kids all seem to have lots of fun.

Years Frame

We got Lizzy a Year frame for her 2nd birthday. We took monthly pictures of Lizzy up until she was one year old and put them in her month frame. I liked doing this and seeing the differences as she got older in the pictures. This Year frame had openings in it from newborn to 18 years old! We will add a new picture of Lizzy each year on her birthday until she is 18.
