Halloween at the Children's Museum
Last night we went to the Children's museum for their Halloween night. Lizzy can't eat candy or even say trick or treat so we skipped that and went up to the tot spot for her to play. She absolutely loved it, we had been there several times in the past but this time she was non stop running around playing with everything. Here's the little fairy:

Footprint Ghosts
Today's activity was footprint ghosts. I had seen these ghosts on a website and knew I had to make them with Lizzy as a Halloween keepsake.
Basic supplies include: white paint, black card stock, paint brush and black sharpie.
Brush the white paint unto the foot sole and have the child stand on the black paper.
Let the paint dry then you can add the face with a black sharpie. I added stickers and glued it onto orange card stock. This is an easy Halloween activity to do with small children.

13 Days of Halloween has Begun!
Earlier this month I posted about a Halloween Countdown Calendar I made that counts down the last 13 days of October, it's a sort of advent calendar where each pocket has a different October/Halloween activity to do that day. Today's activity was "Paint with Apples". We used sliced apples and a small pumpkin dipped in paint to stamp on a canvas art apron. Lizzy had lots of fun and now I have beautiful art apron! Here are some pics from today's activity:

Kitchen Help
Working in the kitchen can be hard sometimes. Lizzy wants to be involved in everything I am doing if not she gets very upset. When I have to cook I try to do all the prep while she is napping and then find ways to keep her happy while I am actually cooking.
If I'm loading or unloading the dishwasher she loves to either climb in the dish washer or take utensils that are sometimes clean and sometimes dirty and run away with them. I try to get her involved by asking her to hand me certain things that are in the dishwasher to put away, this sometimes works.
While I'm cooking she likes to play with her magnets on the refrigerator, pull everything out of the lower cabinets, bring her chair over and stand on it so she can see what I'm doing and when that's not enough she cries. To get her involved I let her stand on a step stool where she can reach the counter and let her do small tasks or play with water. Here she is helping in the kitchen:
If we had more space I would get Lizzy one of these learning towers that are sturdy enough for kids to help in the kitchen safely. The one bellow actually folds flat when you put it away. For now she just wants to get up high enough to see what I'm doing but when she's older I think a learning tower could be a good thing.

At the Park with Grandma
Lizzy absolutely loves going to the park, she especially loves the slide. When Lizzy goes down the slide she will say weee... weee, because we usually say that as she goes down and today as we drove by a park she looked out and saw the playground through the window and yelled out weee... weee! So here she is at the park:
Static from the slide made all her hair stand up!

Halloween Sensory Play
Lizzy loves her water table but we haven't played with it in a while since we last cleaned it. I'm not sure if it was the water or what but wasps started to show up in the screened porch area so we have been avoiding that area until now. I found a few dead wasps out there and no live ones so I think we're safe.
I got the idea to put the sensory play items in the water table and it was a success. Lizzy had lot of fun scooping and pouring things out on the table. For Halloween I put together dried black beans, candy corn, and misc Halloween party things I got from the dollar store. I gave Lizzy one of her stacking bowls and she just started scooping and pouring for a good while. I think we need more black beans though. We'll see how long she's interested in playing with this. Here are some pics from today:
